India Receives Fourth S-400 Air Defence System




  • India is scheduled to receive the fourth squadron of the Russian-origin S-400 Triumf air defence missile system by the end of the week of 19 May 2026.

  • The delivery is part of a $5.43 billion contract signed in 2018 for five squadrons; this fourth unit will be deployed in Rajasthan to secure the western frontier.

  • India simultaneously advanced a $1.2 billion replenishment package for 288 S-400 missiles, comprising both short-range and long-range variants.



India and Vietnam Sign AI and Quantum Technology MoUs




  • India and Vietnam exchanged Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology on 19 May 2026.

  • The agreements were formalized in Hanoi during a ministerial meeting between Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Vietnamese Minister of National Defence Phan Van Giang.

Maharashtra Signs MoUs for 25,400 MW Nuclear Projects
